Dashboards
allow an organisation to quickly identify and respond accordingly to any fluctuations
in performance that may have a resultant effect on the overall business objectives.
Managers can use KPI’s (key performance indicators) to monitor any performance variations
along with accountability, to identify the source of the problem before it is too
late to take corrective action.
Any given area/department within an organisation can have a direct impact on a company’s
performance, be it, financially or on overall group objectives. It can be useful
to have dashboards not only on an executive level, but also for all departments
throughout the company. By having dashboards, basically from the bottom up, performance
goals can be set at each level/department, tracked and reformulated if necessary,
so
as to maximise both performance and objectives.
If you measure and monitor performance within an organisation against goals, you
should significantly increase your chances of being successful and achieving those
goals. In turn, personnel morale, as well as overall company profitability, will be
increased.
